Did you know that as a homeowner in Ireland you may be eligible for an SEAI grant of up to €1,800 to support the cost of installing solar panels? This valuable grant makes switching to renewable energy more affordable-helping to lower your energy bills, boost your home’s value and reduce your carbon footprint. It’s a great opportunity to invest in a cleaner, more sustainable future for your home.
Who is eligible for Domestic Solar PV Grants?
SEAI Solar PV Grant for up €1,800 for the installation of Solar Panel and Battery Storage Systems are available to all homeowners including private landlords.

If eligible, the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) provides a 60% (capped at €90,000) grant on a solar PV investment. PV installers need to be on the SEAI register of installers or the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) approved list.
TAMS support is now available to support up to 11kW solar PV on dairy, beef, tillage and sheep farms. This complements the 40% support already available to the pig and poultry sector through the Pig and Poultry Investment Scheme 40%, which is not limited to 11kW.
Reduce operational costs and enhance sustainability with solar solutions tailored for Irish businesses. Through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), the Non-Domestic Microgen Grant (NDMG) offers financial support of up to €162,600 for solar PV installations, covering systems up to 1000kWp. This initiative is open to businesses, farms, schools, community centres, and non-profit organisations.
To be eligible for the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant, your business premises must have been built and occupied before January 1, 2021. The property must not have previously received a solar PV grant from SEAI. Additionally, the installation must be carried out by an SEAI-registered installer. Only one solar PV system is permitted per Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN).

The Electric Vehicle Home Charger Grant is a government funded support scheme assisting residents and homeowners to install an electric vehicle charging point on their property.
The Scheme will only support smart chargers that are registered on the SEAI’s Smart Charger Register, this register can be found on the SEAI website.
Payment of the grant is made approximately 6-8 weeks after the documents have been submitted to the SEAI.
